Learning Vocabulary From the Newspaper

For my forthcoming book on the science of learning, I’ve been researching how children (and adults) acquire new vocabulary words. I came across this very useful guide from the New York Times about learning vocabulary from reading the newspaper. It’s got twelve great activities, from completing “fill-ins” (newspaper stories from which key words have been removed)  to answering quizzes designed by Times editors. See it here.
